Faridabad News, 24 Sep 2021: To be financially literate is to know how to manage your money. This means learning how to pay your bills, how to borrow and save money responsibly, and how and why to invest and plan for future. Today one should take the initiative to self-educate themselves and upgrade their financial knowledge, by beginning with the basics of money management and maturing into a smart spender. Putting time into one’s financial development improves saving and investment decisions. Keeping this in mind Faculty Development Cell of DAV Institute of Management Faridabad had organized an Awareness Programme on “Financial Literacy & Money Management” on 24th September 2021. Resource person Mr.Ganesh Tripathi who is a NISM Certified Investment Advisor , Mumbai aimed at making the staff members aware of various investment options. Mr.Ganesh has been consistently supervising and conducting Investor Education Programs to spread financial literacy.

Dr.Parul Nagi (Member FDP Cell) initiated the session by introducing the awareness programme and she also welcomed the resource person. The awareness programme was aimed at making the target audience aware of the various kind of investment options available in India, such as Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, PPF, NPS, SSY, Post Office Deposits, Stocks and Shares etc. and how one can invest in a small and systematic savings pattern as well as Tax-Saving Avenues. It imparted information along with relevant examples as to how such small savings can enable individuals to have a big corpus in a short span to plan for short-term and long-term financial goals. This awareness programme was actually a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Initiative by the Securities Exchange Board (SEBI) for making Indian Citizens Aware of Investment options available in India and how these investments can help build a corpus for the achievement of future financial goals.

The awareness programme was attended by more than 100 staff members. Session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.Ashima Tandon (Member FDP Cell). She also thanked Ms. Reema Nangia and her team for rendering media support.
Dr.Ritu Gandhi Arora (Officiating Principal ) appreciated the efforts of the members of FDP Cell Dr.Ashima Tandon, Dr. Parul Nagi, Dr.Kavita Goel and Ms.Pooja Gour.
