Faridabad, 21st May 2020 : In view of the success of Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) Programme during the past four years, the Government of Haryana has announced the commencement of the programme’s fifth batch beginning July 21, 2020.

The programme was envisioned by the Hon’ble CM of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, in 2016 to bring young professionals to work with the government and improve the public service delivery in Haryana. Over the last four years, 100 young professionals have successfully worked with Chief Minister’s office in implementing some of the biggest flagship programmes including Antyodaya Saral, Saksham Haryana, Haryana roadways, and grievance management through CM Window.

The new batch will get an opportunity to work on different projects such as on improving sex ratio of the state, organ transplantation, anemia reduction as well as solid waste management in Haryana.

Speaking about the new batch, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, the Program Director of CMGGA from the Chief Minister’s Office in Haryana, said, “The application process for the fifth batch has started online, and is inviting applications from across the country. Interviews will also be conducted online in the month of June and final selected candidates would resume work from July 21, 2020. CMGGAs of the current 2019-20 batch have provided crucial support to the district administration in Covid-19 crisis management by ensuring distribution of food supply, movement pass management over Saral portal, maintenance and services across shelter homes, online social media management offering psychological support to the citizens. The objective of the programme is to encourage young professionals to work directly with the government in ensuring efficiency and transparency in citizen service delivery across the state.”

The programme started with the concept of encompassing good governance through streamlining the state’s flagship programmes as well as launch of innovative interventions designed by the CMGGAs under the leadership of their respective DCs. This mixed approach of work led to the tremendous success amongst the youth, with over 4,000 registrations received last year. On an average, each cohort has candidates from more than 10 states of India.

Vineet Gupta, Co-Founder and Trustee, Ashoka University, said “This fellowship has received remarkable number of applicants over the last four years, thereby increasing the competitive levels. After an intense process of selection, 25 applicants are taken on board as part of the programme. A total of 100 associates from the last four years have made a palpable impact in Haryana across multiple domain.”
