KRISHNA DAS JOINS AMJAD ALI KHAN’S CHANTS FOR UNITY FOR A POWERFUL RENDITION OF OM MANI PADME HUM

Mumbai, 28th September 2026: The spiritual soundscape of Chants for Unity expands across cultures and traditions as internationally acclaimed devotional artist Krishna Das joins Sarod Maestro Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash for a reverberating rendition on Om Mani Padme Hum.  The track is one of most contemplative and evocative offerings by Krishna Das. The collaboration brings together artists whose music has been rooted in spirituality, devotion and the search for a deeper human connection. Krishna Das’ unmistakable devotional voice meets the meditative resonance of Amjad Ali Khan’s sarod, creating notes that are both intimate and expansive.

Titled Om Mani Padme Hum, the track is a meeting of voice and sarod that allows the sacred chant to unfold with remarkable simplicity. Krishna Das’ vocals carry the devotional essence of the chant, while Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan’s & Amaan – Ayaan’s sarod adds an instrumental dimension that is at once contemplative, emotive and deeply rooted in the Indian classical tradition. 

Chants for Unity brings together sacred chants, shlokas, stotras and kirtan with the timeless vocabulary of the sarod. 

Led by Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan and featuring the next generation of the legendary sarod lineage, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, the album journeys across diverse expressions of devotion while remaining grounded in a universal message of unity. Featuring a total of nine tracks, this album also marks the vocal debut of Subhalakshmi Borooah Khan who has sung five out of the nine songs. Acclaimed bhajan singer Nina Rao helms the powerful Sankat Mochan Hanuman Chalisa, Singer Jai Uttal has given vocals for Lotus Feet and Pandit Vijaykumar & Pandit Narayanan with their team has chanted the deeply contemplative Mahamrityunjaya Mantra.

The track features Krishna Das on vocals and Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan on sarod, with music production, arrangement, mixing and mastering by Sawan Dutta while it is produced by Kabir Sehgal. At its heart, Om Mani Padme Hum is not simply a musical collaboration. It is an offering allowing two distinctive voices of devotion to meet in a space where melody, chant and silence converge.
