New Delhi News, 05 Oct 2019 : The Prize Distribution Ceremony of two annual events of Korean Cultural Centre was held recently on 4th October at Korean Cultural Centre in New Delhi. H.E. Mr. Shin Bongkil, Ambassador of Republic of Korea graced the occasion. The top seven winners among the senior group got a free-trip each to Korea for 6 Days and 5 Nights. Rest 74 winners got total cash prize of Rupees One Lakh Ninety-Four thousand (Rs. 1,94,000) and trophies. The top winners will be visiting Korea from 5th to 10th October, 2019. Unique and unprecedented projects, the Korea-India Friendship Essay and Painting Competitions succeeded in bringing out heart-touching expressions in the form of essays from the Indian students. Some wrote emotionally, some drew beautiful images, some used poetry, but surely all poured their hearts out. Winners visited Korean Cultural Centre India located at Lajpat Nagar, Delhi from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, Jharkhand, Punjab, Assam, and many other parts of India. “ The increasing number of the participants and their passions evident in the essays and paintings show that these events encourage and nourish the mutual understanding of two countries and future of the bilateral relationship”, says Mr. Kim Kum-pyoung, Director, Korean Cultural Centre India. The other
7th Korea – India Friendship Essay Competition saw 32,054 Participants, 628 Schools, 28 states and 9 union territories – knowledge and interest about South Korea spread far and wide, all across India. It was indeed India’s largest ever Essay Competition for school students on international topics, organized by Korean Cultural Centre India. This annual competition was organized seventh time in a row. The Essay Competition had different topics and prizes for Senior and Junior Groups.

Junior Group consisted of classes 6 to 9 and its Topic was “My favourite South Korean Person” 19,313 Students participated in Junior Group while senior group consisted of classes 10 to 12 and its Topic was “South Korea- my favorite destination” 12,741 Students participated in Senior Group.
