Mumbai : Karan Mehta made a smashing debut with Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ released in February this year and now the critically-acclaimed film is set to premiere on Netflix on 31st March.

Karan’s debut film that premiered at the prestigious Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco, also received huge appreciation from the industry, audience and critics alike. If you have missed watching the love story, then you can tune into Netlix on 31st March and chill!

Born in Germany, actor Karan Mehta moved to India and started his career by making short films. Karan has worked and assisted on film sets such as Raees, Lust Stories and many more. It was Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap who saw Karan’s short films on You Tube and informed the filmmaker about the same who later narrated the story of Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat (APWDM) to Karan and made him prepare for his debut film by undergoing workshops and training sessions. And the rest is history!

Apart from sharing the screen space for the first time together, the young talented actors also showcased a lovable chemistry in the movie, which resulted out of their bonding and camaraderie on the sets.

-Anurag Kashyap returns with a bang!
Anurag Kashyap’s latest directorial is a look at modern-day young relationships and their exploration in a world plagued with prejudices, predatory behaviour and the unwillingness from older generations in their acceptance. Among the film’s highlights are impressive performances by the lead actors, a pulsating soundtrack by Kashyap’s long-time collaborator Amit Trivedi, and flashes of Kashyap’s trademark honesty in dealing with human nature.

The movie has Anurag collaborating with music director Amit Trivedi after successful collaborations such as ‘Dev D’ and ‘Manmarziyaan’ and other breakthrough albums.

-Vicky Kaushal’s special appearance!
Vicky Kaushal played a crucial cameo as the titular character in the film reprising his role from Kashyap’s previous film ‘Manmarziyaan’ in which he played Vicky Sandhu. Kaushal’s star presence in the film came as a surprise to many. The two storylines in the film are interconnected by a podcast called ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ wherein the DJ (Vicky’s character) talks about the need for love in times of hate.
